Gala games: NFT purchases and final-sale terms
Gala games store purchases add NFTs to the relevant game’s inventory in your Gala account after the order completes. Store sales are final unless Gala specifies an exception, and transaction fees are nonrefundable. That makes the item selection, quantity, and payment terms decisions to settle before ordering. After submission, distinguish a payment record from a completed order and the item itself. A missing inventory entry needs investigation; another purchase could create a separate charge.
The short version: Check the item, quantity, and payment terms before ordering, because a completed purchase does not provide a routine return option.
The selected item and its inventory destination
The purchase starts with an item associated with a particular game and ends with its delivery to that game’s inventory. The store supports game and availability filters, alongside item search. These help locate a listing, but the listing itself needs to match your intended purchase. Read the item name and description, including any distinction between an individual NFT and a bundle.
Quantity and payment currency are purchase selections. After submission, open the notification bell and check the purchase status. Awaiting Fulfillment means delivery is processing; Fulfilled means Gala records the purchase as complete and deposited into your inventory. Treat those records as different parts of the purchase: an order entry establishes that an order exists, while the matching inventory item establishes receipt.
What can you change before placing an order?
Before placing an order, you can reconsider the selected item, change the quantity, or leave without purchasing. Resolve uncertainty about the description before submitting payment. A rarity label alone cannot tell you whether the item serves the purpose you have in mind.
Gala’s store policy makes sales final unless Gala expressly specifies an exception. The policy also excludes transaction-fee refunds. An exception needs to apply to the actual purchase; a general expectation that digital stores accept returns does not establish one.
A submitted order needs a status check before any further purchase attempt. Closing the browser does not establish cancellation.
Payment choices and purchase commitments
Cryptocurrency and eligible credit card purchases involve different payment arrangements. Card payment is available for certain purchases, so the options shown for the selected item matter. Postponing the purchase remains a separate choice when the item description or payment conditions leave an unresolved question.
| Choice | Payment arrangement | Commitment or condition |
|---|---|---|
| Leave before ordering | No new purchase payment | No item delivery from an unplaced order |
| Use an offered cryptocurrency | Payment in the selected supported currency | Applicable network fees remain the buyer’s responsibility |
| Use a credit card where offered | A payment processor handles the card payment | Processor terms apply alongside Gala’s terms |
Changing the payment method changes the payment arrangement, not the identity of the item you intended to buy. Recheck the purchase total and conditions after changing that selection. Do not interpret a familiar payment method as permission to disregard the store’s final-sale policy.
Transaction fees beside the item cost
The amount charged for an item and the fees associated with its transaction are separate purchase costs. Gala places responsibility for applicable network fees on the user. The nonrefundability rule describes how fees are treated; it does not establish a fixed fee amount for every purchase.
A quoted fee belongs to the transaction that produced it. A different payment arrangement or network condition may produce a different amount, so an earlier purchase does not establish the next total. Keep the fee shown during confirmation with the purchase record. This preserves the distinction between what the item cost and what processing the transaction cost.
A completed order with no matching item
A completed order and an absent inventory item describe a delivery discrepancy that needs investigation. The discrepancy alone does not establish whether payment failed, delivery failed, or the display is incomplete. Avoid treating the blank inventory view as a reason to buy the same item again.
Records that describe the discrepancy
Order details
Retain the item name, quantity, order identifier where available, and displayed status. A screenshot can preserve what the account showed at the time. Include the relevant game when describing the issue so the report identifies the intended inventory destination.
Payment details
Keep the payment confirmation and any transaction identifier associated with that order. These identify the payment being investigated without substituting for evidence that the item arrived. An unrelated transaction or a balance screenshot cannot establish which purchase produced the discrepancy.
Delivery evidence
Open Inventory in the Gala account used for the purchase. If you use a Web3 wallet, connect it before checking the full inventory. Compare the item and quantity in the relevant game category with the order details. If they disagree, describe the exact difference in the support request. Keep purchase records private, and remove unrelated financial information from screenshots. A support request documents the problem; it does not itself confirm a refund or delivery.
Delivery and the credit card transfer hold
A delivered purchase can remain subject to a restriction on moving the item. Gala’s card-purchase conditions distinguish purchase completion from transfer out of the Treasure Chest. This matters if transferring the NFT is part of the reason for buying it: an order confirmation does not establish immediate transfer eligibility.
Gala’s Credit Card Purchases article, updated April 29, 2024, specifies a minimum 14-day wait after purchase completion before an item can leave the Treasure Chest. That minimum does not promise release at an exact hour or create a return window. Purchase delivery and permission to transfer answer different questions, even when both concern the same NFT.
Gala games - your questions answered
Does an available NFT listing reserve stock while I consider buying?
An availability display does not establish that the store has reserved an NFT for you. Treat the displayed stock as listing information, and distinguish it from a completed purchase. Do not assume that leaving a listing open guarantees later availability.
Can a credit card chargeback affect my Gala account?
Gala’s card-purchase conditions allow it to take account action after a chargeback, including a temporary ban or exclusion from daily distribution. The conditions describe discretionary action, rather than an identical consequence for every chargeback.
Who handles my card information during an NFT purchase?
The payment processor handles card information, and Gala states that it does not hold users’ credit card information. A purchase may direct you to the processor’s interface, where its own terms and policies also apply.
Are credit card purchase limits fixed permanently?
Gala can change its credit card transaction limits. Check the limits applicable to the payment you are preparing rather than relying on a previous purchase amount. A past successful payment does not establish eligibility for a later one.
Is a store rarity filter enough to identify the NFT I want?
A rarity filter narrows the listings but does not uniquely identify an item. Match the item name, game, and description before ordering. Similar rarity labels can appear on different items, and a bundle requires attention to its listed contents.
